My parents threw Mark and I a wedding shower last weekend. We got there pretty early and forgot the chairs we said we’d bring. Gas is expensive and it’s a 25-minute drive, so instead of going back to get them, my darling fiancé and my brother gave me an impromptu rock and roll concert and later some people at the shower had to sit on the floor.
Yep. Hook a solid body European Spector 5-string bass and a B.C. Rich Warlock up to the closest amp…

…and promptly blow mom’s poor ol’ ear drums to pieces.

I’m back from NYC, and let me tell you, this just ain’t been Air Tran’s week.
I’m not going waste any more of my time with them to go into details, but they just felt so bad about my flight experience they gave me a free one-way ticket! So I can go through all that crap all over again! For half price, basically.
However, just so you know, if your flight is canceled and then new flight delayed and delayed again and you’re “misinformed” about it all a number of times and spend over seven hours in La Guardia airport dicking around so you decide to get a puzzle book from the bookstore, unless you really really like Sudoku, you’re totally screwed.

You don’t want know how long it took me to find a crossword puzzle book. I don’t know which is more stupid - how long it took me to find one, or that I refused to give up and just read a Cosmo.
At least this time I wasn’t told I couldn’t take my camera on board the plane (that’s a whole ‘nother story). I was just told it counted as an entire carry-on item in itself. ‘Scuse me for packing light.

So in a last-stretch effort to finish school once and for all, this week I started my Maymester course. It’s basically a semester’s worth of a class viciously crammed into three weeks of May. I think that works out to each day of class is equal to a week of regular semester work.
So… sorry I’ve been slow on the posting photos. When I’m not in class, reading studying homeworking or highlighting… I am sleeping. And occasionally trying to get a job. Not much time for shooting or blogging.
I’m taking an advanced microeconomics course (yay electives!). Which means every day I have a lovely hike across campus for a class where I will sit for 3 hours in a small, hard desk made for right handed people (I am left handed) and listen to a Census Bureau stooge imported from D.C. ramble on about theories and PPFs and god knows what else (to be seen) while I try to at least look attentive and not beat the football player sitting behind me to death with my legal pad.
I don’t know if Humongous Ongus back there recognizes me as the little white girl with the cameras who frequented games and practices - doubt it - but I know him. I “know” a lot of the football players on a variety of less than personal levels. Many are nice, intelligent guys and with bright futures. This guy - to remain unnamed - apparently has the intelligence level of these french fries I’m eating right now.

Yes, yesterday I had yet another Disney Princess Moment!

A Disney princess. Stephanie, a UGA junior, and part of the Disney College Program. But, still a princess.
We don’t know which one, because that ruins the magic (no, really, I don’t know). The portrait can’t be too suggestive of any certain princess, because that also might ruin the magic.
Magic is very important. I like magic.
Hint: The birds and butterflies aren’t Photoshop and clipart. They’re magic.

It’s a beautiful day outside and there is a big track meet half a mile from my house and a rodeo grand finale tonight a few miles away, and I’d love to shoot either or both of these things just for fun (yeah, like when was the last time I did anything for the hell of it?)… but I can’t.
There’s a week left of classes before finals and I have about eleventy billion* things to do before then, so instead I’m holed up in my dark office (bedroom) up to my elbows in crap on a cluttered desk listening to music too loud and drinking tons of water trying to wrap everything up and still keep something marginally resembling sanity.
As far as you know, I’m kicking some final journalism class ass.
In reality, it’s something more like this:

“Success” by xkcd.com
Lord.
It’s gonna be a long week. I shot Felton losing his ’stache yesterday, too, I’ll get that online in between dodging sharks.
After finals I get a week off then… summer classes. Whee! Then I graduate. Like whoa.
Kiss kiss.

Still no portfolio site and we’ve gone from goofy template header to … goofy personalized custom-made header. BUT it’s a start…
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a working RSS feed!
And also added to the site is a resumé page. The format got a little skewed when I imported it, but I worked on it and I hope it’s more readable now.
And as always, feedback concerning any aspect of the blog and content therein is always greatly appreciated.
