About

My name is Lindy Dugger Cordell. After (finally) finishing up at the University of Georgia, I got hitched in Las Vegas, moved back to my native Northwest Georgia, and started working as a staff photographer at the Rome News-Tribune in Rome, Georgia, where I have been ever since. My husband promises me one day I can have a cat, but I don’t believe him.

I tell stories through visual mediums. I love my job.

ABOUT THE BLOG:

I started this blog in April 2007 at the suggestion of my photo professor.

Most people don’t understand really what it is we photojournalists do. And I think if you watch anyone long enough, you can find their humanity. To be fair, though, most people aren’t going to open up to you unless they see yours as well. One of the things I wanted to do with this blog when I started it was to show the face behind the camera.

The photos in this blog are meant to be just a running display of my recent work and to illustrate whatever it is I’m talking about. They are not meant to be taken as a portfolio collection or portfolio images. You can see my working portfolio here.

Also, I hate boring photo blogs. If this gets boring, please let me know.

Love, Lindy.

P.S. What would a “face behind the camera” blog be without a face? This photo has been up since the beginning, so I figure I’d just leave it.

I look ridiculous in pretty much every recent picture taken of me, so here’s me back when I was still stylish:
