Second game I covered this past Friday was the Model-Adairsville game, at Model. Yay new lights. Like Armuchee, it’s the third week in a row I covered Model football. Um… yeah. Widely debated amongst the media on the sidelines, many of whom saw their game against rivals Armuchee last week… I think they did better this game than last. Overall seemed less sloppy to me. Some people would disagree.

Don’t really know what to say other than that. I sorta feel bad for the kids. They just keep getting their asses handed to them. It’s not that they’re really that bad, but they’ve played a lot of good teams early in the season and they just haven’t quite got it all together yet. Think sorta like the Little Giants before the heartwarming ending.

I usually don’t get to hear much of the marching band, unless I luck out and only get scheduled to shoot one game that night. Usually during half time I’m barreling across the county at about ludicrous speed to get to Game 2.
Anyway, I’m impressed with Model’s marching band this year. They’re doing the music of Carlos Santana, and they have a kid playing electric guitar who is quite good. Last few years I’ve seen a rise in dudes on the sidelines playing electric bass, but guitar not so much. I dig it. It’s fresh and lets face it, everyone is tired of hearing Broadway Favorites during half time. I know after I hear “Phantom of the Opera” and “Circle of Life” I am totally pumped and ready for some footbaaaaaalllllll. No not really. I think Armuchee is doing some stuff from Chicago this year, though, which is a nice change from your standard Andrew Lloyd Webber selections you hear.
Anyway, since it’s apparently Rick Morranis movie reference day…
And that’s it.
Oh yeah, Adairsville won 28-0, I think.

They’re just Johnson Wildcats keeping to form. Maybe Coach BoBo can straighten them out with a hidden ball, behind the back, between the legs pass. Worked at Johnson.
